Report

Indeed, love is another name for human being that teaches him his manner, and as
delightfully put by H.A. Sayeh, love is intended to free our heart from its heavy chains.
Forsooth, love is delight as it has brought the creation to its knees from the very
beginning…
Following the harmony of the mesmerizing words of Hushang Ebtehaj, I decided to
portray the magnificence of this miraculous compassion onto my dancing words;
since love is missing from our world, with its many trivial things.
Or as Jalāl ad-Dī􀇉n Muhammad Rūmī􀇉 puts it, love is the astrolabe of God’s secrets; a
scale to measure and to bring the light of knowing God into the dark heart of men who
live today; love is hope; it is freedom and a magnificent manifestation of salvation for
the contemporary man.
I portrayed love on these dancing lines with their golden calligraphic charm of
Kereshmeh because they mirror each other. Kereshmeh depicts the miracle of love
while love knows how these lines boldly move against the background. The design
and composition of these elements convey some form of freedom, as according to
older teachings, reason enters the heart of the artist who uses his splendid feelings
and his miraculous stick to print the words onto the canvas. Both love and Kereshmeh
want to be the silent prelude to creation, to voice a new form of miracle, and to redress
our ungratefulness to love. Because human’s voice will be nothing like God’s if it lacks
the tenderness and joy of the divine voice. Love is the emancipator and, just like many
other things in this world, arrives in a fast pace.
