Fariborz Ghalam

Biography

Based in Tehran, Iran

Painting, B.A. Program, Soore Art University, Tehran

Born in 1998 in Behshahr, he first studied mathematics and physics, but his interest gradually shifted toward art during the pre-university year. Around that time, he began learning drawing with Rasoul Akbarlou — an experience that shaped the foundation of his artistic path.

He later studied painting at university up to the associate degree level but eventually chose to step away from formal education. The structure of academia felt too narrow for the kind of exploration he was seeking; he wanted the freedom to develop his own pace, methods, and understanding of painting.

Since then, his practice has evolved through steady experimentation and reflection. He has focused on developing a personal visual language grounded in abstraction and the observation of everyday situations. Although much of his work engages with the still life genre, he often moves across different modes of painting, allowing the process itself to shape meaning. Over the years, he has participated in several group exhibitions and art events, gradually building a consistent and considered body of work.
